I was only 10 years old when my parents first told me we were going to fly across the globe to help the vulnerable in Uganda. Knowing only what I had seen and heard of my dads past trips, I didn’t know what to expect and I believe I’m definitely a different person because of Yonder Life. For the next three years I got to go with my family, and other friends who have the desire to serve, to Uganda during my summer break. Every trip was unique, but they all shared a similar outcome for me. I was humbled, thankful, and eager to serve more whenever I got back from each trip. The smiles on the kids faces whenever you simply give them a new soccer ball is one of the most amazing feelings. The people you meet and the relationships you build are unlike anything else. The laughs, community events, and life’s changed truly make the long plane and car rides 100% worth it. Every trip I’ve been on, Gods work has been evident in so many different ways. From the little details that He puts perfectly into place about a hotel or next meal, to the hearts changed for us and those we are serving. For basically as long as I can remember, Yonder Life has been a huge part of my life and I am forever grateful for that. I am now 15 and I miss Uganda, the Yonder life team there, and the kids everyday. I can’t wait to go back again and make more amazing memories and see God at work here and in Uganda… and of course you can’t forget about the new friendships with the hippos 🙂

I had the privilege to go and serve with Yonder Life for 2 years. While on my first trip I truly saw the need that many of the children and families had. I remember going on the trip and my heart breaking for the children and families that did not have much, but were so happy and so content with what they had. We got to serve and become friends with many of the families that are apart of Yonder Life, and share the love of Christ with them, we truly got to be the hands and feet of Christ, and it was incredible. I will never forget the moment when we set out one morning to go and treat several families and kids for jiggers, and seeing how when we came the people welcomed us and I was overwhelmed with joy just to help the families and kids be free from the terrible bugs. On that same day we came across a family, that I will never forget, and it was as if the Lord reached in to my heart and turned on a switch that made me have a burden for them. The condition that they were in was not the best, but was so amazing to see their resilience to keep going. I want to thank Yonder Life for taking care of this family and for being devoted to helping out the communities, and share Jesus Christ with all of them. I remember hearing stories of how this family was being taken care of and I can’t help but think of the mercy our Lord Jesus has on us when we come to him, in Matthew 8:2-3, it was such a simple act but yet it meant so much to see these lepers come to him and Jesus having mercy on them to heal them. I am very thankful for the time I got to spend with Yonder Life and the memories that God has given me from it like the family I made when I got to go my first and second trips.

Every trip that I have taken to serve Yonder Life has been a tremendous blessing. Each time I serve I am impacted in different ways.

Missions and humanitarian trips with Yonder are always unique and custom-designed to my passions and expertise. I have distributed food, clothing, shoes, and bibles in the village served by Yonder Life and to the Batwa Pygmy Tribe. I have also been able to use my gift of Bible teaching and my vocation of personal trainer and wellness coach to share with these groups as well. In addition to the amazing gift of serving the Ugandan people, I have also experienced beautiful tourism opportunities such as staying on the River Nile, going on incredible safaris, seeing the amazing wildlife, enjoying the solitude and grandeur of the crater lakes. The food, culture, and hospitality of Uganda has made each trip very memorable. I can personally attest to the professionalism, organization, and safety of working with Frank Aineomugisha and his wonderful team. I will be going back to work with Yonder Life again and again!
