Yonder Health

At Yonder Life Africa, we believe that good health is essential for children to thrive academically and personally.
Our health initiatives focus on ensuring that every child has access to the basic healthcare services
they need to grow, learn, and reach their full potential. We understand that without proper health
and nutrition, education and personal development cannotbe fully realized.

  • Access to Basic Healthcare

We provide access to essential healthcare services, including regular check-ups, vaccinations, and treatment for common illnesses. By partnering with local healthcare providers, we ensure that children in underserved communities receive the care they need to stay healthy and avoid preventable diseases.

  • Nutrition Support

Proper nutrition is a foundation for good health and effective learning. We provide nutritious meals to children to support their growth and cognitive development, ensuring they are well-nourished and able to focus on their studies.

  • Health Education

We educate children and their families about the importance of hygiene, sanitation, and healthy lifestyles. By promoting awareness about preventive healthcare, we help communities improve their overall well-being and reduce the spread of diseases.

  • Mental Health and Well-being

We recognize the importance of mental health in a child’s overall development. Through counseling, emotional support, and creating a safe, supportive environ- ment, we ensure that children’s mental well-being is also prioritized.

  • Preventive Health Programs

We focus on preventive healthcare, providing resources for sanitation, clean water access, and basic health education, empowering families to protect their health and the health of their communities. At Yonder Life Africa, we are committed to a holistic approach to child development that includes health, education, and personal growth. By ensuring that children are healthy, we enable them to take full advantage of educational opportunities and work towards a brighter, healthier future. Together, we can create a healthier, more prosperous future for children in underserved communities. support our health

That’s how we focus on health at Yonder Life Africa

The community is faced by many health challenges and are constantly ailed with diseases like malaria, cholera, dysentery, typhoid among others. The failed drainage systems are the major cause of the water related diseases. We gather the members in the affected communities and educate them on proper drainage practices so that they get rid of stagnant water and clean up the trenches so that the disease occurrences are reduced.

We engage the community through health outreaches. We collaborate with government-set up health centres and give them basic medication to treat common illnesses like typhoid, malaria and dysentery. We periodically organise health camps and invite specialists who volunteer of their time to do consultations and treatment of the community people. Sometimes they are specialised camps to handle paediatric cases or eye issues among others.

Our Story

The Jigger “Curse” Broken

Grace, Annette and their youngest sister Abwooli come from a family of four. For the longest time, their bodies were inflicted with jiggers from their feet up to nearly their lips. They lived in a grass thatched house with their mentally ill parents. Because their family had suffered from the jigger problem generation after generation, they were known in the entire community as a cursed family. Three years ago, we got to learn of their predicament and started to work with them We supported them in all aspects; from taking the children to school to extending health and social support to them and were also able to build them a new house and latrine. Being jigger free and attending school is one of our achievements we are delighted to mention as we continue working with them.
